From 1st April 2019 the main rate of the national minimum wage rises to £8.21 per hour for 25 year olds and over. The rate for workers aged 21 – 24 is £7.70 per hour. The rate for workers aged 16 – 17 has increased to £4.35 per hour. Workers aged 18-20 will receive £6.15 per hour minimum.
The apprentice rate (if aged over 22) increases to £3.90 per hour for the first year.
